What size dumpster do I need for demolition?
Pick by weight as much as by volume. Demolition debris is often heavier than it looks.
10-yard · $375
Includes 1 ton. Best for concrete, brick, tile and other heavy debris, small bathroom demos and tight driveways.
20-yard · $450
Includes 2 tons. Our most popular size for kitchen demos, deck removal, small sheds and gutting a few rooms.
30-yard · $650
Includes 3 tons. For bulky, lighter debris in volume: larger sheds, whole-floor gut jobs, or a deck and fence together.
The 15-yard ($425, 1.5 tons) fits between the 10 and 20. Not sure? Try the size selector or text us a photo.

Tips for a smoother demolition
- Put it close to the work. Tell us where you want it; less carrying means a faster job.
- Tell us about heavy debris when you book. Concrete, brick and tile change which size makes sense.
- Spread heavy material evenly across the floor instead of piling it at one end.
- Load only to the top edge. Every load is tarped, and an overfilled dumpster can't be picked up.
- Protect your driveway. Boards under the rails are available on request; see will a dumpster damage my driveway?
- Check permits for the teardown itself. Demolishing a structure can require a permit from your town or county.
Demolition dumpster FAQs
How much does a demolition dumpster cost?
Snappy's prices are $375 for a 10-yard, $425 for a 15-yard, $450 for a 20-yard and $650 for a 30-yard. Each includes delivery, pickup, 7 days and a weight allowance of 1, 1.5, 2 or 3 tons. Extra weight is $95 per ton and extra days are $15 per day, plus a fuel surcharge of $2 per one-way mile from our Monroe yard.
What size dumpster do I need to tear down a deck or shed?
A 20-yard is the most common choice for a deck or a small shed. Larger sheds, or a deck and fence together, may call for a 30-yard. Text photos and rough dimensions to 704-690-4445 and we'll recommend a size.
Can I put concrete or brick in a demolition dumpster?
Yes. Concrete, brick and block are heavy, so we recommend a 10-yard and filling it only partway. Every dumpster has a 6-ton maximum load, and weight over the included allowance is $95 per ton.
Can I get a demolition dumpster today?
Yes, within 30 miles of our Monroe yard. Call or text 704-690-4445 by 10 AM and same-day delivery is guaranteed. Farther out, we still work to deliver the same day, and anywhere in our service area gets delivery within 24 hours.
Do you deliver on Saturdays?
Yes. We deliver on Saturdays from 8 AM to noon.
Can asbestos go in the dumpster?
No. Asbestos-containing materials need specialized handling and disposal. If you suspect asbestos in older flooring, siding, insulation or ceiling materials, have it tested before you start demolition.
Do I need a permit for a demolition dumpster?
Not when the dumpster sits on your driveway or other private property. A dumpster in a public street may need a permit from your town. Tearing down a structure can require its own permit, so check with your town or county before you start.
