Frequently Asked Questions

FAQs

  • What size dumpsters are available?

We offer 10-yard, 15-yard, 20-yard, and 30-yard roll-off dumpsters. Our 10-yard works well for smaller cleanouts and heavy debris, 15- and 20-yard dumpsters handle most home renovations and cleanouts, and our 30-yard is ideal for larger construction, demolition, and high-volume projects.

  • How much does a dumpster rental cost?

Snappy Dumpster Rental’s standard residential rates are $350 for a 10-yard dumpster, $400 for a 15-yard dumpster, $425 for a 20-yard dumpster, and $650 for a 30-yard dumpster. Base pricing includes delivery, pickup, up to 7 days of rental time, and an included disposal weight allowance. Additional days are $10 per day, and customers can keep the dumpster as long as needed. Final pricing may vary by delivery distance and excess disposal weight. See our full Sizes and Pricing breakdown for details on every size.

  • How much weight is included in a dumpster rental?

Included disposal weight depends on dumpster size: 1 ton with a 10-yard dumpster, 1.5 tons with a 15-yard, 2 tons with a 20-yard, and 3 tons with a 30-yard. Additional weight is charged separately if your load exceeds the included allowance.  Regardless of size, maximum weight allowance is 6 tons due to the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of our tucks.

  • What surface is acceptable to set dumpster on?

Concrete, Asphalt, Gravel that is hard packed is always the best surface. We can set the dumpster on grass if requested; however we are not responsible for any damages ensued.

  • What items are NOT allowed in the dumpster?

Hazardous and restricted materials are not allowed in the dumpster, including: paint (unless fully dried and hard), paint thinner, gasoline, oil (hydraulic, transmission, engine, etc.), antifreeze, batteries, propane tanks, and other hazardous chemicals. Refrigerators or AC units containing refrigerant also need special handling and cannot go in a standard dumpster. If you're not sure whether an item is allowed, call us before you load it and we'll help you find the right option. For a full list of accepted and restricted materials, see our What Cannot Go In A Dumpster guide.

  • Can you place the dumpster on my driveway?

Yes. Our dumpsters are driveway-safe, and driveway protection boards are available upon request to help prevent surface damage. Just let us know when you book if you'd like boards used.

  • How full can I load the dumpster?

Dumpsters can only be loaded to the top. Snappy Dumpster tarps all loads to ensure that we do not lose anything on the roadway. An overloaded dumpster may have items piled over the top, preventing a tarp from covering the load. In this case, we will not pick up the dumpster and a dry run charge will be applied. We always recommend asking us if the load is questionable.

  • Do you offer same-day dumpster delivery?

Need a dumpster today? Order early and we can often deliver the same day, depending on your location, available inventory, and route capacity. Book online or call us as early as possible for the best chance of same-day service.

  • How long can I keep the dumpster?

Our standard residential rental includes up to 7 days. If you need more time, you can keep the dumpster as long as needed for $10 per additional day. There is no need to rush your project just because the first week is over.

  • Do I need to be on scene when the dumpster is being delivered?

Snappy Dumpster can deliver the dumpster without anyone being home or on site, as long as we have been provided with instructions on where to place the dumpster. Photo's will be sent prior to our truck leaving the scene.

  • Do I need a permit to have a dumpster delivered?

Most times permit's are not needed when the dumpster is placed in a residential yard or in the roadway in front of the property. It is always best to ask your HOA if they have any rules governing dumpsters.

  • Can I put Tires in the Dumpster?

Tires must be disclosed by text or calling our office prior to any being put in the dumpster. Instructions will be provided and must be followed.

  • What is the best method to fill the dumpster?

All dumpsters have doors in the back that allow you to walk into the dumpster. We recommend putting larger items in first and filling the remaining space with the smaller items. Breaking down unusable items will save space and allow more to be placed into the dumpster. Please feel free to ask our staff for any further instructions.

  • Are there additional fees for tires or special items?

Certain items, like tires, may carry an additional disposal fee. If you're planning to dispose of tires or other special items, call us or check at booking so we can confirm current pricing before your delivery.

  • Can I put roofing shingles in the dumpster?

Yes, roofing shingles are generally allowed, though they're heavy, so keep your dumpster's weight allowance in mind. If you're doing a full roof tear-off, call us and we can help you pick a size that fits the weight.

  • Can I put construction and demolition debris in the dumpster?

Yes, construction and demolition debris like wood, drywall, flooring, and similar materials are allowed. If your project includes concrete, dirt, or other heavy material, see the question below, since those may need a dedicated heavy-debris load.

  • Can I put household junk and furniture in the dumpster?

Yes, household junk, furniture, and general cleanout debris are allowed in our dumpsters. See our What Can Go In A Dumpster guide for a full breakdown.

  • Can I put concrete, dirt, or other heavy material in the dumpster?

Concrete, dirt, and similarly heavy materials are allowed but count toward your dumpster's weight limit quickly. Because these materials are so dense, call us before you book so we can recommend the right size and help you avoid overage charges.

Mattresses are generally allowed. Appliances containing refrigerant, like refrigerators and air conditioners, need special handling and cannot go in a standard dumpster — call us to discuss options if you need to dispose of one.

  • How much notice do I need to give to schedule delivery?

We recommend booking as early as possible, especially if you need a specific date. Same-day delivery is often available if you order early in the day, depending on your location, available inventory, and route capacity.

  • What if I need to reschedule or cancel my delivery?

Just call us as soon as you know your plans have changed, and we'll help you reschedule or cancel your delivery.

  • Where will the dumpster be placed on my property?

We'll place the dumpster on a flat, accessible surface, most commonly a driveway. Let us know your preferred placement location when you book, and if you have any specific access concerns, give us a call ahead of delivery.

  • How much space do I need for delivery?

Our trucks need a clear, level path to reach the delivery spot, along with enough overhead clearance for low-hanging branches or wires. If you're not sure your space will work, call us and we can help you figure out the best placement.

  • Can the dumpster be placed on the street?

In some cases, yes, but street placement may require a permit from your city or county, depending on where you live. See our permit question above, or call us to confirm what's needed for your location.

  • What if I need more time with my dumpster?

No problem — call us before your rental period ends and we can extend your rental for an additional daily fee.

  • What if my dumpster is full before my scheduled pickup?

Give us a call and we can typically arrange an early pickup, or in some cases a swap for an empty dumpster if you still have more debris to load.

  • How do I know what size dumpster I need?

It depends on the size of your project. Smaller cleanouts and minor renovations typically fit in a 10 or 15-yard dumpster, while larger remodels, roofing jobs, and construction projects often need a 20 or 30-yard. Check out our Dumpster Size Guide for more detail, or call us and we'll help you choose.

  • Can I upgrade to a larger size after booking?

If you find you need more room than expected, call us as soon as possible and we'll do our best to accommodate a size change, depending on availability.
